Who they are

Frigga taught Loki every illusion he has and Thor most of what he knows about patience, and she is the one member of the household who never treats the adoption as a secret worth keeping. Her scenes are short and load-bearing: Asgard's emotional arithmetic runs through her, and both her sons spend later films arguing with her advice.
