Who they are
Love and Thunder's prologue is its best sequence: a desert, a dying child, an oasis, and a deity who finds the request funny. Gorr's argument — that the gods take worship and give nothing — is one the film never really answers, which is why he works even when the tone around him does not.

Ten thousand years of it
In the comics Gorr's campaign runs across three timelines at once — a young Thor in the Viking age, the Avengers-era Thor, and a last king of Asgard at the end of time — and he builds a machine to kill every god who ever existed simultaneously. The Necrosword there is All-Black, the first symbiote, forged from the shadow of a dead Celestial.
