Who they are
Kilgrave's power is a sentence: he says a thing, you do it, and afterwards you remember having wanted to. The series treats him as an abuser rather than a supervillain — his worst crimes are ordinary ones committed at scale, and the writing never lets him understand why anyone would call them crimes.
