Who they are
Every time she lost to Gamora, Thanos replaced another piece of her with machinery, and staged the fights. Nebula is the MCU's most complete redemption because it is the least verbal: she goes from wanting to kill her sister, to wanting her father dead, to sitting quietly with the Avengers doing the work — and in Endgame she has to look at the version of herself that was still his.
