Who they are
Abducted from a Missouri hospital car park in 1988 and raised by space pirates who told him they were going to eat him. Quill's entire personality is a defence built out of a Walkman and a dead mother's mixtape, and the Guardians films are the slow, funny process of it becoming load-bearing rather than protective.
