Who they are

Thunderbolts* is a film about depression wearing a superhero film as a coat, and Bob is where the coat comes off. A drifter who volunteered for an experiment, he comes out of it with more power than anyone in the franchise and a shadow that eats people. The film's ending is not a fight; it is a group of damaged people walking into his worst memory to sit with him, which is the most radical thing the MCU has done with a climax.

From the comics

The hero everyone forgot

The Sentry was launched as a lost Stan Lee creation from the 1960s that the world had been made to forget — a hoax Marvel ran in the press, and a premise the character kept: a golden hero with the power of a million exploding suns, whose dark half, the Void, is the price of him existing at all.

Where this might be going

Guesses, not canon — reasoning from the comics and from what the films have already set up. None of it has happened on screen.

Doomsday has a Void in it

Plausible

Lewis Pullman is in the announced Doomsday cast, and the Void is the only thing in the current roster that scales to a Doom-level threat. Whether he is the weapon, the liability or the sacrifice is the open question.
