Who they are

Introduced as an old flame from law school who turns out to have been raised for a war neither of them chose, Elektra is the argument Stick was making all along: that Matt is a weapon somebody trained and then mislaid. The show pairs them not as a romance but as a demonstration — she does the thing he refuses to do, enjoys it, and keeps asking him why he bothers not to.
