Who they are
X2's White House assault is still the best cold open in the franchise, and Cumming's Kurt — a frightened, devout man used as a weapon — carries the film's argument about fear. Smit-McPhee's younger version is the team's kid brother across two films; Doomsday brings Cumming back, twenty-three years on.
