Who they are
Phastos builds anything from cosmic energy and quit the project over Hiroshima, on the grounds that giving people better tools had turned out to be a mistake. The film finds him in Chicago with a husband and a son, and the whole argument about whether humanity is worth it goes through his kitchen.
