Latveria

Place Country

Latveria

A small Eastern European monarchy that comics readers know very well and the films have not yet visited.

The place itself

Doom's kingdom in the comics: a fairy-tale country of castles and robot guards, run as a benevolent dictatorship by a man who genuinely believes his subjects are better off for it. The MCU has named it nowhere on screen. It is here because Doomsday is coming, and because the map would be dishonest without it.

From the comics

Doom's kingdom, and the argument for him

Latveria is the comics' standing evidence that Doom is not a simple villain: no crime, no poverty, no elections, and a population that mostly loves him. Every writer who visits it has to decide whether that is monstrous or merely honest.

Fantastic Four Annual #2 (1964), Stan Lee and Jack Kirby

Where this might be going

Guesses, not canon — reasoning from the comics and from what the films have already set up. None of it has happened on screen.

The castle is the natural set

Plausible

Doom on screen almost certainly means Latveria on screen — Doomsday's production has been photographed building Eastern European exteriors, and the character makes no sense without a throne. Where it sits on the MCU's map is unknown; Sokovia is the obvious neighbour.
