What it is
A meteorite that landed in central Africa in prehistory, absorbs and redistributes kinetic energy, and built an entire civilisation on top of itself. Howard Stark thought the shield used the world's whole supply; Wakanda let him believe it for seventy years, and Talokan let both of them believe it for longer.
