Who they are
Yon-Rogg's whole coaching philosophy is that his student should fight the way he does and not use the thing that makes her dangerous, which he frames as discipline. He reports to the Supreme Intelligence, believes the war is a defence, and is a fluent enough liar that he may believe some of it himself.
