Who they are
Garfield's Peter is the mouthy one — quick, angry, visibly enjoying the powers in a way no other screen version does. His two films are about parents: a father who left him a briefcase of research, and a father-in-law who tells him to stay away from his daughter. Sony cancelled the third, which is why the character reappears a decade later with unfinished business and the best entrance in No Way Home.
